Student Life at Jeehdeez'a Elementary School

Positive Learners Create Success

Jeehdeez'a student life offers exciting learning opportunities and traditional cultural events and activities for our kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Our Navajo school community is focused on student achievement that meets or exceeds proficiency levels in reading/language arts, math, and science.

In addition to meeting academic standards, students develop intellectual curiosity, and lifelong learning habits. Students are introduced to curricular and extracurricular activities that enhance their mental, physical spiritual, and cultural growth. Various Family and Child Education programs, enrichment programs and after-school tutoring programs prepare students for success in the classroom.

Jeehdeez'a student life includes opportunities to participate in our athletics program. We are offering boys' and girls' teams in basketball and volleyball. Teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, character, physical fitness, and community building are all benefits of athletics. Additional sports competitions will be developed as our community's interests and needs arise.

College and career readiness also starts at Jeehdeez'a. Our teachers and community members instruct students at diverse learning centers, exposing them to various skills and industries. STEM programs, computer science, and science fairs allow students to engage with new technologies and systems they will use throughout their academic and professional lives.

Every Friday, we host an event, fun meals with the students, where we surprise them with a special treat. Sometimes, it's ice cream on waffle cones, and other times, we have a table with pens, pencils, bookmarks, movie tickets, and other prizes for students with good grades or perfect attendance.
